Shawnee is uniquely experienced in focusing on whole life transformation-professional, personal, in-service, creative & spiritual-especially for those with a social conscience and creative spirit.

She has dedicated her life and career to social and personal change and creative and spiritual study. She became a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) through Coaching for Transformation certification at Leadership that Works. She tailored her training with advanced study of Embracing the Shadow, Spirit Led Coaching, and True Purpose. She also completed an 18-month Vipassana (Insight) Meditation course. She became a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) by completing a 3-year training of trauma healing through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute. She is a writer and loves incorporating the creative process and active imagination into her practice. She is also blessed with an intuitive capacity and may offer a modern mystical side to the arc of the human condition.

Prior to becoming a coach, Shawnee ran her own consulting business to help environmental, health, and education focused organizations thrive. For over a decade she supported local and national non-profit organizations, public agencies, and educational institutions across the country through her persuasive writing, grant-based fundraising, and strategic planning. She raised over $100 million with her client organizations. She also has volunteered her time to serve on boards supporting causes she loves.

Shawnee received a Bachelors of Science in environmental biology and attended law school at University of California, Davis. She clerked for a trial court judge and practiced law as an environmental attorney for the California Attorney General’s Office and in private practice representing non-profit organizations.

Shawnee is of Iranian and European descent. She was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and led the colorful life of an American from a mixed cultural household growing up in the 70’s and 80’s – an unconventional family in a conventional suburb. Some of her earliest memories are from resting behind a big living room chair listening to her parents and their friends tell stories in English, Farsi and Spanish about revolutions, far off jungles, and people struggling for their rights in distant countries. She has traveled throughout Central and South America, Europe, explored mountain ranges across the western U.S. and sought her family roots in Iran. After living in California, Costa Rica, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington, D.C., she now calls Montana her home with her husband and two boys. She has a spiritual practice, which includes Vipassana (Insight) Meditation, writing and connecting with nature. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, skiing, yoga, on silent retreat and being with her family and friends.
